When Xeretec wanted to demonstrate the impact of its Device as a Service (DaaS) solution, Pulse Studio was commissioned to produce a case study film documenting its work with food manufacturer Apetito.
The project provided an unusually strong case study story. Apetito had moved from a largely reactive approach to workplace technology towards a managed, data-led model — generating significant improvements in cost, employee experience, IT resource, security and sustainability.
Most notably, Apetito reported that Xeretec’s DaaS solution had saved the business £1 million within its first 12 months, while employee user satisfaction increased from 4/10 to more than 7/10 within six months.
Our job was to turn a technically complex IT transformation into a concise, credible customer story built around the people who had experienced the results first-hand.

The Brief: Turning IT Transformation Into a Customer Story
Before working with Xeretec, Apetito’s approach to workplace technology presented several challenges.
Devices were being purchased through a relatively reactive and transactional process, equipment wasn’t always aligned with the requirements of individual users, budgeting could be difficult to forecast and managing the estate consumed valuable internal IT resource.
Xeretec introduced a different approach. Rather than simply supplying replacement hardware, the company began by evaluating what Apetito’s employees actually needed. Different requirements were identified across roles including office-based teams, senior executives, developers, mobile users, graphics and marketing — allowing Xeretec to create a more appropriate technology solution for different parts of the business.
That gave us the central structure for the film:
Where was Apetito? What did Xeretec change? And what measurable difference did it make?
It’s the structure we regularly use within our case study video production work because it turns a customer testimonial into something much more useful: evidence of a business problem being solved.
Starting With the Customer, Not Xeretec
The credibility of the film depended on Apetito telling the story. We therefore interviewed Apetito’s Head of IT, alongside Xeretec’s Account Manager, allowing the audience to hear both sides of the project.
Apetito could explain the challenges its IT team had been experiencing, what changed and the impact the new solution had made. Xeretec could then provide additional context around the discovery process, technology and thinking behind the solution.
This distinction is important. Rather than Xeretec making claims about the effectiveness of its own service, many of the strongest proof points came directly from its customer.
For B2B organisations selling high-value services, that’s one of the reasons testimonial video production can be such an effective sales tool: your customer provides the evidence for you.
From Reactive IT to a Proactive Service
One of the clearest transformations was the way Apetito’s IT team could support its users. Previously, much of the model had been reactive. Xeretec’s solution incorporated hardware alongside services including automated device enrolment, asset tagging, first-line support and user-experience monitoring across endpoint devices. Xeretec also managed the wider technology lifecycle, from installation through to eventual recycling.
The introduction of user analytics allowed Apetito to identify and remediate potential hardware, application and backend performance issues before they became problems for employees. According to Apetito, this helped transform its service desk from a primarily reactive operation into a proactive IT service. That’s a much stronger case study message than simply describing the individual technologies being supplied. It demonstrates the operational impact of the service.
£1 Million Saved in the First 12 Months
The project also provided something particularly valuable for a case study: measurable commercial results. Apetito reported that Xeretec’s DaaS model generated £1 million in savings during the first 12 months.
The unit cost was reported as approximately 15% lower than the equivalent capital expenditure, despite the solution incorporating additional services and user analytics. Apetito also no longer needed to absorb approximately £20,800 per year in additional costs associated with accidental damage and phone replacements.
These numbers became powerful proof points within the wider customer story. For corporate video production aimed at B2B decision-makers, specific evidence like this can dramatically strengthen a film. Instead of relying on words such as efficient, effective or cost-saving, the audience gets a tangible measure of what changed.

Cost wasn’t the only measure of success. The project also changed the experience of the people actually using Apetito’s technology.
Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach to hardware, Xeretec developed solutions around different user groups and their actual requirements. Employees could be provided with equipment better suited to their work, while zero-touch setup simplified the deployment of computing and mobile devices.
The impact could also be measured. Apetito reported that user satisfaction increased from 4/10 to more than 7/10 within the first six months, with continued improvements thereafter.
This gave the film another important dimension. The story wasn’t simply about reducing the cost of IT. It was about simultaneously improving the experience delivered to employees.
Freeing Thousands of Hours of Internal IT Resource
Another important result was the effect on Apetito’s internal team. Managing equipment and dealing reactively with user problems had previously consumed significant resources. Following implementation, Apetito estimated that the solution had freed thousands of hours of IT resource, allowing its skilled internal team to concentrate on higher-priority projects.
Automation and proactive remediation could handle more common issues, while the savings generated through the wider project could be reinvested into other technology initiatives.
This helped us tell a broader transformation story:
lower cost + better user experience + less reactive support + more resource for strategic work.
Rather than treating each benefit in isolation, the film could demonstrate how the different elements of Xeretec’s solution worked together.
Demonstrating the Solution in a Real Working Environment
The film was captured on location at Apetito’s Trowbridge site, with the production completed during a single filming day. Alongside the interviews, we captured Xeretec and Apetito representatives discussing the solution, employees using the new equipment, day-to-day operations and wider footage of the working environment. This was particularly important for a technology case study.
Rather than creating a film consisting entirely of people discussing IT services, the supporting footage could place the technology within the environment where it was actually being used. That gives viewers context while helping a potentially technical subject remain visually engaging.
Sustainability and the Technology Lifecycle
The project also provided an environmental story. Xeretec’s approach incorporated management of the complete device lifecycle, including ensuring Apetito purchased equipment appropriate to its actual requirements and introducing a circular-economy approach for retired technology.
The project documentation reported that around 90% of retired equipment could be reused, with approximately 10% recycled rather than going to landfill, alongside recovery of residual asset value and reporting around reductions in CO2. This gave the finished case study another relevant proof point for organisations evaluating technology partners — demonstrating that the solution wasn’t focused solely on initial procurement and cost.
One Case Study. Multiple Marketing Assets.
The production was planned to create more than one film. Alongside the main 2–3 minute case study video, we produced five short-form social media clips, each approximately 10–20 seconds long.
These shorter assets could focus on individual proof points such as:
- Cost and efficiency savings
- Improvements to user experience
- Reduced reactive IT support
- Sustainability
- Security
- Xeretec’s discovery and evaluation process
- Why Apetito would recommend Xeretec
This meant one customer story could generate multiple pieces of targeted marketing content.
It’s an approach we regularly use within our social media video production work — particularly for B2B case studies where one customer interview can contain several powerful standalone messages.
The Finished Xeretec & Apetito Case Study
Outcomes
The finished film gave Xeretec a customer-led case study capable of explaining a relatively complex Device as a Service proposition through real business outcomes.
Instead of concentrating solely on hardware, software or technical specifications, the story demonstrated what the solution meant for Apetito:
£1 million saved.
User satisfaction increasing from 4/10 to 7+/10.
Thousands of hours of internal IT resource released.
A shift from reactive to proactive support.
Improved visibility, security and sustainability.
Those results gave prospective Xeretec customers tangible evidence of the potential impact of the company’s approach.
Results
The strength of the finished case study came from combining measurable commercial results with direct customer testimony.
Rather than Xeretec telling prospective clients what its DaaS offering could achieve, Apetito could demonstrate what had already happened within its own organisation.
The production also created five additional short-form assets, allowing individual results and messages from the case study to be repurposed across Xeretec’s wider marketing activity.
For a B2B technology provider selling a potentially complex service, that combination of customer credibility, measurable evidence and multiple campaign assets makes the case study useful far beyond the original film.
